Fáilte go Gaelscoil Phádraig Baile Breac

Tá ár gcara dílis Pat Mc Kevitt imithe ar shlí na fírinne.

Duine de bhunaitheoirí na scoile ab ea Pat
agus chaith sé 20 bliain mar ionadaí an phobail ar an mBord Bainistíochta.
Is iontach an tacaíocht a thug sé don scoil tríd na blianta.
Ba chúis áthais do Pat go bhfuil Gaelscoil i mBaile Breac.
Bhí sé an-bhródúil as an scoil
agus chuir sé gliondar ar a chroí na páistí a chloisint ag caint gaeilge.
Ní dhéanfar dearmad air i nGaelscoil Phádraig go deo.
Déanfaimid comhbhrón lena clann. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

Our dear friend Pat Mc Kevitt has gone to his eternal reward.
Pat was one of the founders of the school and
was a community representative on the Board of Management for 20 years.
He gave tremendous support to the school down through the years.
Pat was delighted to have a gaelscoil in Ballybrack .
He was extremely proud of the school
and it filled his heart with joy to hear the children talking Irish.
Pat will never be forgotten in Gaelscoil Phádraig
.
We send our sympathy to his family.
May he rest in peace.

Bhain Ranganna 5,6 an-thaitneamh as an am a chaith siad
i nGaeltacht Corca Dhuibhne i gCiarraí.
Tháinig feabhas mór ar a gcuid gaeilge.
Chuaigh siad ag deapadóireacht agus amach ar bhád chun Fungi an deilf a fheiceáil
agus chuig Uisceadán an Daingin.
Chaith siad tamall ar an trá, sna sráidbhailtí éagsúla, scoileanna áitiúil
agus foirgnimh stairiúil sa cheantar.
Mhol na mná tí iad, ag rá go raibh siad an-mhaith agus an-bhéasach
agus go raibh siad an-sásta leo sna tithe.

Míle buíochas do Múinteoir Anthea, Múinteoir Pádraic agus Múinteoir Doireann
don obair go léir a rinne siad roimh dul agus an fhad is a bhíodar sa ghaeltacht.

Ranganna 5,6 really enjoyed the time they spent in the Gaeltacht in Kerry.
There was a great improvement in their Gaeilge.
They went climbing, out on a boat to see Fungi the dolphin
and to the Dingle aquarium.
They spent time on the beach, in the different villages,
local schools and historical sites.
The Bean an Tí of the houses they stayed in praised them,
saying they were very good, very mannerly
and that they were very happy to have with them in their house.

A huge thank you to Múinteoir Anthea, Múinteoir Pádraic agus Múinteoir Doireann
for all the work they did before they went and while they were in the gaeltacht.

Bhí seirbhís carúil an-dheas ar fad againn san eaglais.
Bhí gach páiste páirteach ann le scéal na nollag, ceol, caril agus amhráin nollag.
Míle buíochas do Munteoir Anthea a ullmhaigh an cór agus an ceol,
do Muinteoir Deirdre a rinne dráma na nollag leis na naíonáin beaga
agus don foireann go léir a rinne an-chuid obair lena ranganna féin.
Bhí na páistí ar fheabhas. Maith sibh.

We had a lovely carol service in the church.
Every child was involved with a nativity play, music, carols and Christmas songs.

Ard mholadh do na daltaí nár chaill aon lá ar scoil i rith an céad téarma.
Dár ndóigh ní féidir teacht ar scoil má tá tú tinn
ach tá dea-thinreamh an-tábhachtacht.

Very well done to the pupils who didn't miss a day in school in the first term.
Of course you can't come to school if you are sick,
but good attendance is very important.

Tá 6 prefabs nua curtha isteach in ionad na sean-chinn a bhí againn.
Tá siad an-dheas agus i bhfad níos fearr.
Ach leanfaimid orainn ag cur brú ar An Roinn Oideachais
maidir leis ár mbogadh isteach san fhoirgneamh buan atá leagtha amach dúinn.

We have 8 new prefabs in place of the oldest prefabs we had.
They are very nice and much better.
But we will keep the pressure on The Department of Education
to move us into the permanent building allocated to us.

Tá Anthea Ní Bhuachalla ceaptha mar Phríomhoide Tánaisteach anois.
Míle buíochas do Múinteoir Jana agus Múinteoir Deirdre don dea obair a rinne siad

sa phost freagrach sin.

Tá áthas an domhain orainn go raibh Pat Mc Kevitt,
duine de bhunaitheoirí na scoile, in ann teacht isteach lena bhean céile Ann.
Thug Cathaoirleach an Bhord Bainistíochta Hilda
bronntanas beag dó mar aitheantas ar an méad a rinne sé
tríd na blianta ar son na scoile.
Go raibh míle maith agat a Phádraig.

Lá an Fhorógra 15ú Márta 2016
Cosúil le gach scoil eile ar fúd na tire ghlac Gaelscoil Phádraig páirt
i Lá an Fhorógra chun comóradh a dhéanamh ar 1916,
an saol mar atá a cheiliúradh agus an todhcha
í a shamhlú.

Like every other school throughout the country,
Gaelscoil Phádraig took part in Proclamation Day
to commemorate 1916, celebrate the present and imagine the future.

Thosaigh an comóradh le amhrán na scoile.
Léigh Múinteoir Pádraic an Forógra.
Léigh beirt ó Rang 5,6 forógra do ghlúin nua a scríobh na daltaí
ag léiriú luachanna, idéil agus dóchas ghlúin 2016

The commemoration began with the school song.
Múinteoir Pádraic read the Proclamation.
Two of our pupils read the proclamations for a new generation,
they had written reflecting the values, ideals and hopes
of the generation of 2016

Lean an ceiliúradh ar aghaidh le ceolchoirm. Bhain gach duine an-thaitneamh as.

The celebation continued with a concert which everyone enjoyed.

Chan gach duine Amhrán na bhFiann agus árdaíodh an brat
chun críoch a chur leis an lá speisialta seo.
This special day ended with the singing of the national anthem as the flag was raised

Ba dheas an rud go raibh an comóradh agus an ceiliúradh seo
ar siúl i rith seachtain na gaeilge.
agus bhí an-chuid imeachtaí eile ar siúl sa scoil freisin.

It was great that this commeration and celebration happened during seachtain na gaeilge.
There were lots of other events on in school as well.

Gaeilgeoirí na Seachtaine

Ba mhór an ócáid é nuair a tháinig saighdiúirí ón arm isteach
chun labhairt faoi Eirí Amach 1916.
Thug siad brat na hEireann agus cóip de Fhógra na Saoirse don scoil
agus léadh amach cuid de Fhógra na Saoirse.

It was a great occasion when army officers came to talk about the 1916 rising.
They presented the Irish flag
and a copy of the Proclamation of Independance to the school
and some of the proclamation was read out.

Bhuaigh Gaelscoil Phádraig an Léig Peile. Iontach. Comhghairdeas

We won the football league
Brilliant! Congratulations

Tá nuacht iontach ag an Coiste Glas.
Tar éis dhá bhlian oibre ar an téama taisteal
tá an ceathrú brat glas faighte againn.
Beidh beirt páiste ón gcoiste ag dul chuig D.C.U.
chun glacadh leis an Brat ar son na scoile.
Táimid an-sásta leis an iarracht atá déanta ag gach duine go dtí seo
agus leanfaidh muid ar aghaidh leis os rud é go bhfuil sé i bhfad níos slaintiúl
agus níos fearr don timpeallacht chomh maith.
Munar féidir siúl ar scoil tá bealaí eile teacht ar scoil,
ar nós, rothaíocht, an bus a fháil agus ‘Páirceáil ‘is Siúl’.

The Green Committee has great news!!
After two years of hard work on the travel theme, we have been awarded our fourth green flag.
Two children from the committee will go to D.C.U. to accept the flag on behalf of the school.
We are very happy with the effort everyone has made
and hope that we can continue with this since it is much healthier and better for the environment.
If you cannot walk to school remember there are other ways, cycling, the bus or park and stride.

Taispeánann an suíomh seo go bhfuil páistí iontacha agus foireann iontach againn
i nGaelscoil Phádraig. Tarlaíonn an-chuid rudaí i rith na scoil bliana.
Tá ag eirí go breá len ár ndaltaí .
Tá na páistí agus a dtuismitheoirí, na múinteoirí,
an Bord Bainistíochta agus pobal na scoile an-bhródúil as an scoil.

Ach táimid ag feitheamh 20 blian i gcóir foirgneamh buan.
Tá foirgneamh buan ag teastáil.

Our website shows that we have great children and a great staff
in Gaelscoil Phádraig
.
A lot of things go on throughout the school year.
Our pupils are doing splendidly.
The pupils and their parents, the teachers and the Board of Management
and the school community are very proud of our school
But we are waiting 20 years for our permanent building.
We need a permanent building.
